Voici un plan de migration/upgrade que j'ai réalisé pour un client (ne parlant pas francais, donc en englais) avec les contraintes en place, j'aimerais avoir vos avis, le but est de mettre 3 ESx en cluster avec 2 DELL M820 et un M830 en n'ayant 0 downtime.

VEEAM 9.5 ne supporte pour le moment pas VmWare 6.5, donc tant que la Veeam Update 1 n’est pas sortie, nous utiliserons VmWare 6 (vCenter Server + Esxi)

Actuellement, il y a 2 hosts M820 (Esxi 5.5) et un M830 (Esxi 6), aucun cluster n’existe pour le moment.
Le vCenter actuel est une appliance en 5.5.

Plan for Upgrading & Clustering Primary Site ( HA/EVC ) :
  1. Snapshot / Backup ->current vCenter Appliance 5.5
  2. Deploy a new vCenter Appliance 6.0
  3. Shutdown the old vCenter Appliance
  4. Deploy a Win2012 Server for VUM (vCenter 6.5 app include VUM)
  5. Creating a new HA/EVC cluster (Check the compatibility, smae CPU family)
  6. Attach the 2 Esxi v5.5 M820 Hosts to the cluster and the M830 Esxi host
  7. vMotion the Vms from one of the 5.5 hosts to the 2 other hosts ( M830 + M820 )
  8. Upgrade to Esxi v6 the “free Vms” host (with VUM)
  9. vMotion the Vms from the last Esxi 5.5 host to the last upgraded to v6
  10. Upgrade to Esxi v6 the “free Vms” host
  11. Reorganize the Vms across the 3 hosts to improve performances
  12. Check and validate
