Hi guys,
Just recently I came across the above mysql error and at one point was at full panic mode. This is because all the development databases were stored in my local mysql server using wampserver. After hours of searching through Google and forums, I finally found the solution to this problem, so I thought of sharing it with you guys. So here it is:
First you should stop the MySQL service (If using Wampserver like me, just simply click on the wampserver tray icon -> mysql -> stop service, else if you have installed a standalone MySQL server then go to control panel -> administrative tools -> services -> and stop the service).
Open a command prompt and change the path to until you reach the bin directory of mysql (E.g. C:\wamp\bin\mysql\mysql5.1.36\bin). And then type mysqld –skip-grant-tables
Leave this window open as it is and open another command prompt and change the path until you reach bin directory of mysql and type mysqlcheck –check-upgrade –all-databases –auto-repair (E.g. C:\wamp\bin\mysql\mysql5.1.36\bin>mysqlcheck –check-upgrade –all-databases –auto-repair).
Type mysql and press enter.
And that’s about it. You now regain access to all your databases with all data intact. Hope this works out for people who might face this problem in future.
