Afficher un alert dans un update panel

Salut,

Je souhaite faire un alerte quand j'appuie sur un bouton qui est dans un updatepanel pour ne pas rafraichir la page. J'ai repris un exemple sur de nombreux site, mais chez moi ça ne marche pas pourtant.
