[debutant] transtypage string en int

yo tt le monde !

Je pensais comprendre le système de transtypage mais visiblement je me trompais... Je souhaiterais caster un String en integer mais...

String maString = "12000";
Integer monInteger = (Integer) maString;

Exception : Cannot cast from String to Integer

comment faire ?

Integer.parseInt(taString)
