Par le plus grand des hasards j'ai découvert hier que gtk2 devrait disparaitre de Debian-Linux, dans les mois qui viennent...

Je vous traduis et recopie le tout premier paragraphe :
Les copains, comme certains d'entre vous le savent déjà, Debian a retiré FPC/Lazarus de son repo Forky (ie unstable). C'est parce qu'ils laissent tomber le support pour gtk2 et à la fois FPC et Lazarus (semblent) dépendre du gtk2 très obsolète !

given the scale of the problem, it makes sense to (from the perspective of what we know today) to simply develop something that talks to X11 directly. it is not exactly rocket science, and surely far less complex than the path that has been followed down for the last couple of decades - trying to use GTK but having it fade from use, trying to switch over to Qt but having toxic legal barriers thrown up. and who is to say that Qt will not replaced by something different in the near future?

X11 has been around for, what, 40 years or more? it has certainly survived the test of time. this wayland thing is all the rage now, but has its own set of problems. and people talk about Xwayland - is this wayland emulating X11? if so, then carrying on with X11 is just fine!

C'est le moment de se ré-intéresser à cette excellente bibliothèque.
