Huawei doesn’t need nationalism to beat Apple in China
AliExpress fonctionne bien en Chine :“This [nationalist] sentiment might help Huawei’s overall brand image in China, however without competitive products, it’s impossible for Huawei to achieve such a success in 2018 in its domestic market,” says Mo Jia, an analyst with Canalys in Shanghai. “I think the major factor is Huawei’s aggressive technological innovation, which brings it to the same level as the top two smartphone giants, Samsung and Apple, in the global market.” Counterpoint Research director James Yan agrees, saying, “I don’t think it is a significant factor in purchasing decisions,” instead citing strong photo capabilities, battery life, and performance from Huawei’s own Kirin processors as bigger reasons for Chinese consumers to choose the brand.
Amazon admits defeat against Chinese e-commerce rivals like Alibaba and JD.com
Au niveau mondial, Apple se fait dépasser par les autres constructeurs :Amazon is shutting down its Chinese domestic e-commerce business, it told sellers on Thursday. By July 18th, Amazon.cn will no longer be open to third-party sellers, meaning it won’t compete with the massive e-commerce giants of China, including Alibaba and JD.com. Amazon still plans to let Chinese customers shop at international versions of the site, including the company’s American, British, German, and Japanese marketplaces. Amazon says it’s reevaluating its fulfillment strategy in the country to meet those needs.
