Your question is a little vague. What kind of design would you like to implement? Does it have to do with the way the windows are structured? Is it related to the graphical skin, to the look & feel ? Is portability important to you?

Maybe compound views are an option for you. There are multiple ways to change the default UI with LEONARDI, either by configuration or using Java. So please be more specific.

I wanted a GUI that looks like the layout in the attached image. What's the best way to do this?

You should specialize the LY_DHTML_POPUP_VIEW parameter and set it to false. This will disable the popup window mode and generate form views such as the one in your example. Use the Windows/Parameters menu to do this.

Note, however, that this will only work using the web DHTML based execution (and not the JQuery based execution). Then, groups of fields and tabs are defined directly in the composer, using the form editor. Skin elements can be added specializing other file and image resources.
