Installer UBUNTU 7.04 sur mon disque dur externe

Salut tt le monde,

Voilà ce que j'ai fait (sachant que mon pc permet le booting avec USB) :

1- J'ai installé Ubuntu sur mon disque dur externe normalement avec le live CD.

2- J'ai choisi d'installé le GRUB dans la partition principale (du disque dur externe).

et quand je démarre avec le disque dur externe le grub démarre bien mais lorsque je choisi de démarré ubuntu dans la liste GRUB, il me retourne l'erreur suivante :

ERROR 17 : cannot mount selected partition.

Est-ce que vous savez comment résoudre ce prob?

Dommage ça n'a pas marché :s, je crois que dans la ligne :

root (hd1,0)

Peut être je me trompe de partition dans laquelle mon Linux est installé, comment puis-je la modifier exactement ? c'est-à-dire comment pourrai-je savoir sur quelle partition mon Linux ?

c'est simple au menu grub appuye sur echap et tu as la possibilite de taper dans un terminal les cdes
tu tapes root(hd1.1) par exemple et le reste des lignes
