[Annonce] PostgreSQL 8.3 beta

Bonjour tlm,

la beta 8.3 est sortie, voici le changelog :

pleins de nouvelles features, dont :
le support de xml en natif (type xml)
la possibilité de creer des tableaux de type hétérogène
de choisir la place du null dans un order by (tres utile !)

il s'agit d'une beta, alors n'hesitez pas a remonter votre feedback.

Our first two weeks of testing were extremely fruitful, finding several bugs in Beta 1, which we've now fixed and are ready for you to re-test version 8.3. If you weren't able to get Beta 1 working on your system, it should be working now ... so try it out and tell us what you find!

8.3 BETA 3


Thanks to all the testing, feedback and bug reports the community has performed with the first and second betas, we now have our third beta of 8.3.

We hope that this will be our last beta before release candidate so please download and continue testing to ensure that any issues you raised have have been resolved. As always, our community is the first line of defense to help us find any "corner cases" of possible issues.

Binaries for Windows are already available; binary packages for Red Hat and Solaris should be available soon.

8.3 Beta 4

Thanks to all the testing, feedback and bug reports the community has performed with the current betas, we now have our fourth beta of 8.3.

Due to continued testing by our community we have found performance improvements, fixed bugs in PLperl and XML handling. We have also made many documentation improvements, particularly in the Partitioning section.

We hope that this will be our last beta before release candidate so please download and continue testing. Testing is the only way to help ensure that any issues you find will be resolved. As always, our community is the first line of defense to help us find any "corner cases" of possible issues.
