Probleme Démarrage 2 partition XP et ubuntu

Bonsoir, je suis encors débutant sur linux (mais je me suis fait les dents sur une mandiva).

J'ai un P3 900 mtz 256 mo HDD 60 go (3 partition : 1 ntfs win xp, 1 Fat 32, 1 ubuntu 2007 (ext3 + swap). l'instal de ubuntu 2007 c'est bien passé mais des que j'ai redémarré

Est l'ordi est planté, je ne peut ni accéder a Xp, ni a linux. Lors de l'instal de ubuntu j'ai demander qu'il m'indique qu'elle partition choisir au démarrage.

Que faire, j'ai tenté de le réinstaller via le cd de démarrage en le bootat sur une disquette et cella me fait le meme msg d'erreur.

Je cherche encore

PS : mon HDD de 60GO c'est un Samsung est il est bizarre en ntfs il me détecte 32go et en fat32 55go ???

Je te conseille de réinstaller grub. Tu dois avoir un problème dans le système de fichier, style fichier corrompu...

A tout hasard, tu peux nous donner ce que te sors df et le contenu de
/boot/grub/menu.lst.

Tu va dire que j y connais rien, mais comment on accède a la commande shell
du démarrage

j'ai essayé avec le live Cd pour accéder au terminal mais :

je n'arrive pas à me connecter au mode "su" (password failure)
et si je tape directement /boot/grub/menu.lst aucun fichier
