Installation pilote graphique

Bonjour,
j'utilise Kubuntu et j'essaye d'installer le driver de ma carte graphique (Geforce 6600), il s'agit d'un fichier .run, quand je l'exécute il me met le message d'erreur Enable to find the system utils 'ld'; puis il me demande si j'ai bien installé binutils, j'ai regardé dans Adept et il me dit que binutils-static est installé, je voudrais juste savoir si c'est le bon ? parce que dans Adept je ne trouve pas d'autre paquet portant le nom de binutils. Merci

apt-cache search ld
#tu auras le nom du paquet nécessaire
sudo apt-get install <nom du paquet>

il y a toute une liste de paquets qui est sortie, celui que j'ai (binutils-static) est dedans donc normalement ça doit être le bon (ou bien il faut que j'installe tous les paquets de la liste ?)? voilà le message d'erreur complet : ERROR: Unable to find the system utility `ld`; please make sure you have the package 'binutils' installed. If you do have binutils installed, then please check that `ld` is in your PATH. Le fichier doit-il être placé quelque part en particulier ? Ou peut-être faut-il configurer quelque chose ?

si ça te donne un emplacement, mets dans ton fichier ~/.bashrc

Vu que tu affirme que binutils-static est bien installé, regarde ou se trouve cette commande `ld`sur ton système et rajoute son chemin dans le PATH

quand je fais whereis ld il me met ld: et puis rien après, donc je suppose que ça veut dire qu'il ne l'a pas trouvé ? pourtant quand je regarde dans adept, à binutils-static il est écris installé en vert, et quand je fais sudo apt-get binutils-static il me dis binutils-static est déjà la version la plus récente... puis 0 mise a jour... etc

au fait, est-ce que les drivers nvidia ne seraient pas dans les dépots ???

ben il y a bien des trucs nvidia dans adepts qui sont aussi écrits comme installé (en fait tout ce qui est dans adept est installé), mais je sais pas si c'est la bonne version. sinon je croi savoir pouquoi il ne trouve pas ld, c'est parce que binutils-static utilise ld_static, donc faut que j'en prenne un autre

bon après l'installation d'une bonne dizaine de paquets (bah oui il y avait les dépendances evidemment), j'ai réussi a passer ce message , mais c'était trop beau, il y en a encore un autre : You appear to be running an X server; please exit X before installing. For further details, please see the section INSTALLING THE NVIDIA DRIVER in the README available on the Linux driver
download page at www.nvidia.com.
Alors on me demande de quitter le serveur X, mais je sais pas comment on doit faire (j'ai regardé dans le readme mais j'ai pas trouvé ou ils expliquaient la procédure), quelqu'un pourrait-il me dire comment faire ? (je sais je suis un parfait ignorant sous linux, ce n'est que mon 3ième jour ^^). merci

Ben il y a surement plus esthétique que cette manière mais appui sur [CTRL][ALT][F1] pour changer de bureau et passer en mode console, tu te loggue en root, puis :

Voilà et X sera tué

P.S: Moi non plus je n'ai jamais su exactement comment le terminer mais cette manière fonctionne

sudo kill -9 -1 : il me déloggue, et quand je lance le fichier (en commandes bien sur, je ne suis pas retourné sur l'interface graphique), il me met toujours le même message.

/etc/init.d/{g,k,x}dm stop : il me met une erreur No such or file directory (enfin un truc du genre).
