Novice : installer un tar.bz2

bonjour,

j'ai installe fedora sur ma machine ce matin, et j'ai deja pu tester yum, mais la je voudrais installer une application qui n'es pas sur les repo de yum, jai donc en ce moment un tar.bz2, je l'ai decompresse', j'ai un dossier, et maintenant qu'elle est la suite?

La procédure standard est :

1. ./configure
2. make
3. su (ou sudo)
4. make install

0. less INSTALL ou less README

Salut,

Firefox (tout comme Thunderbird) justement est le seul qui échappe à la règle

Il suffit de décompacter l'archive, de rentrer dans le répertoire et de lancer l'exécutable

Pas de bol quand meme !

Mais j'ai pas l'impression que cela fonctionne, je lance l'executable, et c'est firefox 3.6 qui s'ouvre.

2. si et seulement si tout est ok passer à la suite
3. make
4. si et seulement si tout est ok passer à la suite
5. su - (ou "sudo make install")
6. make install

donc déjà tester le make alors qe le configure a planté.... c'était une perte de temps

ensuite pour le coup du firefox qui s'ouvre à la mauvaise version
tu n'as pas oublié tout simplement le ./

en lieu et place de

user ~$: fifrefox

ton répertoire nouvellement crée n'est pas dans le PATH c'est donc normal qu'il y ai trouvé firefox par contre (3.6 ou 3.5) et qu'il l'ai du coup lancé.

Firefox 4 n'est pas disponible avec l'installeur de ta distribution ?!
